UX & TESTING

Mock-Ups in Adobe XD & Userberry Testing

App Usability Test Plan:

Regional selection of Nuclear Plants and overall features for the Nuclear App on iOS Devices

(iPhone XR)

Scope:

This test will cover the navigation of the Gauge Tab and the features of the Nuclear App on iOS

devices (iPhone XR). Users will use a Useberry link to view the prototype.

Purpose:

The usability test intends to examine and verify

1. If the proposed idea will make it easier for users to accomplish their goal

2. If a majority of users can complete the task successfully

3. If the overall app is relevant to the understanding of Nuclear Energy

Schedule & Location:

Remote testing done via Useberry.

Method:

Task-based, unmoderated, remote usability test.

Sessions:

Each session should only last about 5 minutes. This includes the task-based test, and

post-session survey questions following the test.

Equipment:

A mobile device (preferably an iPhone XR or later) will be needed by the remote participant to

view the Nuclear App prototype.

Participants:

The test will take place among participants. Recruiting will be done through class

interceptions.

Research Questions:

1. Does the Gauge tab make sense? If not, what would you add/change?

2. Are the tabs applicable to the understanding of Nuclear Energy and to compare with

other forms of renewable energy?

3. Do the overall features (Gauge, Info, Alts, News) make sense? If not, what would you

change?

4. Does the element of live updates and news article (in relation to nuclear energy) make

the user more inclined to come back to the app?

Scenarios:

The test will consist of [1] scenario including [1] task. The task is to [create a new text

document]. The test will be performed on a [mobile phone] using a [Adobe XD] prototype

through Useberry.

Test 1

Scenario 1: Using the Gauge tab to inquire live updates on the searched plants

Goal Alignment: G01, G02, G03, G04

You want to see the overall ratio of production to accidents at the Manhattan Plant in New

Mexico.

Your Task:

·Navigate to and through the Gauge tab.

Assume:

· You have already signed in

· You are starting fresh

Metrics:

Qualitative:

i. Participant Feedback: post session survey.

Quantitative metrics:

i. Time-on-Task: The duration it took a test participant to complete a task.

ii. Completion Rate: Number of participants who were able to complete the

task.

iii. Post session survey: Measure the participant’s perception of the

proposed and existing experience.

WIREFRAMING

An idea starts somewhere.

During the beginning of the design implementation phase, the idea was to draft the initial workflow in which could be expanded upon (later on in development). The sketches provide the blueprint in how the app was to function in addressing the main problem.

USERBERRY RESULTS

Create. Wireframe. Survey.

Here are the results of the task-based usability test. After the participants completed each of the designated tasks, they would then answer the survey to provide insights on ways of how the app was successful or could improve upon.

UX & Testing: Welcome

88% of the users found the features

useful.

Most of the feedback wanted to

know what the app is about. Needed

an FAQ or Call to action.
